The story behind Bedtime Seerah
Bedtime Seerah bermula dengan satu soalan mudah: bagaimana hendak menceritakan sirah kepada anak sebelum tidur dengan cara yang terasa semula jadi?

Many Seerah resources are excellent references for adults, yet few are written for a parent to say aloud to a sleepy child. Bedtime Seerah was created to fill that gap.
The idea is simple: keep the facts of the Seerah, and write them in a form that any parent can pick up, practise for a few minutes and tell with confidence.
We write for Muslim families in Malaysia and beyond, for homes where bedtime is busy, children are curious and parents want to do more than hand over a device. Each script is meant to fit into a real evening, with real interruptions, and still leave your child with something beautiful to remember about the Prophet ﷺ.
Our philosophy
At Bedtime Seerah, a few beliefs guide everything we write.
- Told, not only taught. Children learn to love Rasulullah ﷺ through warm, repeated moments with the people they trust most.
- Accurate and gentle. We never trade accuracy for drama. Warmth comes from the telling, not from invented details.
- Parents first. Bedtime Seerah is written for the adult holding the book, because a confident parent makes a better storyteller.
- Small and steady. A few minutes every night does more than a long lesson once in a while.

Our values in practice
Respect for Rasulullah ﷺ
Every script speaks about the Prophet ﷺ with love and respect. We use his honorific, we do not put invented words in his mouth, and we never show him in illustrations. Children notice how adults speak about the people they admire, so the tone of each story matters as much as its content.
Clarity for children
Sentences are short and concrete. Difficult words are explained inside the story rather than in footnotes. When a scene needs background, the parent’s lines give it in one or two simple sentences, so the child never feels lost.
Trust with parents
We write as if we were sitting beside you at bedtime. The cues are suggestions, not rules, and the questions leave room for your family’s own way of talking. Bedtime Seerah should make you feel more capable, never less.
Why Bedtime Seerah uses storytelling
Cerita menarik perhatian, mengundang soalan dan kekal dalam ingatan. Skrip memberi ibu bapa kata-kata, supaya mereka boleh fokus pada saat bersama anak.
Storytelling also suits the Seerah itself. The life of Rasulullah ﷺ is full of scenes a child can picture: the stillness of the cave of Hira, the long journey to Madinah, and the joy of the people of Madinah as he arrived.
When those scenes are told with care, children do not only learn what happened. They begin to feel why it matters.

Bedtime Seerah scripts are written by Nama penulis and each story is reviewed by nama penasihat agama sebelum diterbitkan.
Every script is written with two questions in mind. Can a parent say this comfortably to a sleepy child? And is every detail true to the Seerah? If the answer to either is no, the line is rewritten.
A note on accuracy
The Seerah is not fiction, and we treat it with care. Dialogue is a storytelling tool for the parent, while events, names and places follow the established accounts of the life of the Prophet ﷺ. Where scholars differ on a detail, we keep the story simple and avoid asking a young child to weigh matters that adults still discuss.
If you notice something that should be checked, we would be grateful to hear from you. Corrections are reviewed carefully and, where needed, the script is updated for every family that uses it.
What we believe about parents
You do not need to be an expert to teach your child about Rasulullah ﷺ. You need love, consistency and a little help with the words. Bedtime Seerah exists to give you that help.
We also believe that parents grow alongside their children. Many adults discover parts of the Seerah they never knew while preparing a story, and that learning becomes part of family life too.
And we believe that no evening is too ordinary. The most lasting lessons are often shared in the plainest moments, in a dim room, in a tired voice, with a child who is almost asleep.
How families use the stories
Bedtime is the heart of it, but the stories travel well. Here are a few ways parents can bring them into the rest of family life.
- In Ramadan. A story after tarawih or before sahur gives the month a gentle rhythm, one scene at a time.
- On long drives. A parent tells the story while the children listen from the back seat, and the questions fill the journey.
- In homeschool and weekend classes. The scripts give a ready structure for a short Seerah session, with discussion built in.
- With grandparents. Grandparents often love telling the stories, and children love hearing familiar voices tell them.
However you use them, the goal stays the same: more moments where Rasulullah ﷺ is part of your family’s conversation.
